Structural and functional relationships of the thyroid gland (TG) in patients with autoimmune thyroiditis (AIT) and the peripheral vasodilation as an integral indicator of risk for atherosclerosis was studied. To achieve this goal we used Doppler method of assessing the function of endotheliumdependent and endotheliumindependent brachial artery vasoreactivity. The study of endotheliumdependent vasoreactivity (OZVD) of brachial artery occlusion was performed with the help of tests. Assessment of endotheliumindependent vasoreactivity (ENZVD) was analyzed taking into account the results of brachial artery test with nitroglycerin. The study was performed in 45 patients with Hashimotos thyroiditis (15 patients with euthyroid variant of the disease, 15 patients with subclinical hypothyroidism, 15 with manifest hypothyroidism surveyed) and 10 volunteers of the control group. The most pronounced decrease was observed in the presence of EDVD subclinical and symptomatic hypothyroidism
