Cultural, historical and natural potential of the Krasnodar Krai: problems and challenges

The topic of this work is devoted to the analysis and assessment of the cultural, historical and natural attractiveness of the Krasnodar Krai. The author analyzes the tourism object database of the Krasnodar Krai, which has a cultural and historical heritage. On the territory of the region there are such significant cultural and historical resorts as Abrau-Durso, Greater Sochi. In particular, the article discusses the Yew-Box Grove Nature Reserve, Akhun, Agur Waterfalls, Stalin’s dacha, arboretum, dolmens, monkey nursery, trout farm, as well as sports facilities of the 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The work assesses the current state of the region tourist attractiveness, as well as regional potential. The statistical indicators of tourist flow and construction of urban infrastructure are analyzed and a conclusion is made that the destination tourist attractiveness demonstrates growth. In the study, the author identified the main problems and challenges that hinder the effective functioning and development of the cultural and historical component of the Krasnodar Krai tourist complex. However, it is noted that the destination still occupies a leading position in the tourism sector, being in second place after Moscow.
