Analysis of models and methods for assessing strength characteristics of polymer composite materials

The article deals with topical issues related to the assessment of strength characteristics of polymer composite materials. Special attention is paid to the methods provided by ISO and ASTM international standards. Besides, the approaches based on the achievements of modern information and communication technologies are described, in particular, on the methods of machine learning, which allow to obtain more accurate indicators of composite strength. Particular emphasis is placed on the possibilities of tensile and impact tests for the purposes of assessing the mechanical characteristics of composite polymers.
