Analysis of the image of cruel Nero: the concept of a tyrant and the influence of its image on western political thought

This article presents an analysis of the concept of a tyrant through the image of the Roman emperor Nero, and also developed the features inherent in a true tyrant. As will be shown, the tyrant was very often defined in terms of his vicious personality and especially his extreme cruelty. In addition, the opinions of the authors of Western political thought, who were influenced by the image of Nero, were presented.
