An important factor is the availability of a sufficient number of services provided to the population and the distance to large cities. We have considered the situation in Kochkovsky district of Novosibirsk Oblast. It was revealed a logarithmic dependence between the change in the number of residents and the size of settlements, as well as its proximity to the regional center. We conducted a survey of the population of all village soviets of the district, the number of respondents in each settlement ranged from 13 to 62%. Information was collected on the characteristics of families and individual family members, as well as on their weekly repairs.
