Analysis of political metaphors in Xi Jinping's speech at the XIXth National congress of the CPC and their translation from Chinese into Russian

The article deals with the types of the conceptual metaphors in the report of Xi Jinping at the XIXth National Congress of the CPC and the strategy of their translation from Chinese into Russian. The 8 most frequent types of the conceptual metaphors are sorted while researching the Xi Jinping’s report. According to statistics, it can be noticed that totally 11,8% of the expression of the metaphor in the source language are paraphrased or omitted in the Russian language. Due to the influence of cultural and linguistic factors the conceptual metaphors are sometimes untranslatable.
