The article looks at the transformation of the concepts of family, family relations and family education in folk pedagogy during the period 18th - the beginning of the 20th centuries, manifested in the change of the family from large to small and a gradual decrease in its authority. The emphasis is made on the revival of traditional spiritual and moral values in family education, laid down in the folk pedagogy.
