Analysis of problems in the organization of the educational process of Russian higher education institutions in modern conditions

This article is devoted to the analysis of the problems of organizing the educational process in modern Russian universities. The problems of optimal correlation of fundamental and applied disciplines, issues of motivation of students' learning activities, the potential of distance education programs, as well as a system for assessing the quality of knowledge are analyzed. The main advantages and disadvantages of distance learning are outlined, ways to achieve compliance of the higher education system with the demands of the labor market are outlined, the possibilities and limitations of using absolute and relative assessment criteria are described.
