Analysis of the professional orientation of the personality of modern students

The article substantiates the relevance of the problem of forming the professional orientation of the personality of students of engineering specialties. Professional orientation is considered as a special type of personality orientation related to professional self-determination and development, affecting the formation of key competencies, attitude to the profession, personal meaning of labor activity, career orientations. The empirical study revealed the dominant orientation of the personality, career orientations and the level of professional orientation of students in engineering specialties. The motives of professional activity were analyzed, it was established that more than half of the respondents have an optimal motivational complex characterized by the dominance of internal motivation of professional activity. The need for psychological support for the formation of a professional orientation of the individual and career plans during the training period is emphasized.
