This article discusses the current state of the production and consumption of bread and bakery products in the Sakhalin region; dynamics of production and consumption, the costs of production. For studying of preferences of consumers research in the form of sociological poll which results allow to draw a conclusion about the big importance of bread and bakery products for the population of area was carried out. Bakery production in the Sakhalin region is social and will be developed successfully not only thanks to a significant share of bread in the food diet of residents of the region, but also due to high quality and a wide range of products. This is facilitated by the absence of serious constraints.
