The article is devoted to the analysis of the results of long-term reforms in the education system of Russia and the identification of positives and negatives in the studied area. The socio-political and economic transformation of Russian society that took place demanded fundamental changes in the country as a whole and in the field of education in particular. An attempt to unskillfully copy Western models of education introduced certain positives and negatives into Russian society, conditioned both by the national characteristics of Russians and by the unforeseen conditions of Russian reality. As a result, after decades, looking at the path traveled, we can objectively assess what we have done. Of course, the one who does nothing is not mistaken. Today we can say with confidence that the improvement of the education system has not been completed and it must be continued in the direction of training professional personnel in the context of globalization, taking into account domestic educational traditions and national characteristics of Russians.
Socio-political and economic transformation of russian society, bologna process, commercialization of the education system, ill-conceived reforms, separating the "grain from the chaff", bureaucracy, corruption
