Analysis of mortality in type 2 diabetes mellitus in the republic for 5 years

Purpose of the study: comparative analysis of mortality and risk factors for the development of death in patients with type 2 diabetes in the Republic over 5 years. Materials and methods of research: Annual statistical reports of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Form SSV 13) from 2018-2022 were processed. Results: There is an increase in mortality from type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The causes of death are cardiovascular diseases, CKD and gangrene of the lower extremities. Regardless of the region, more men died than women. The greatest increase in deceased patients was observed in Syrdarya, Khorezm, RKK, and Bukhara regions. Conclusions: the number of deceased patients in general increased by 1.5 times, and in patients with type 2 diabetes by 1.7 times. Risk factors were duration of more than 10 years, age over 60 years. In 2022, compared to 2018, the number of deaths of patients with type 2 diabetes from CVD increased by 2 times, gangrene of the lower extremities by 1.8 times, and CKD by 1.5 times. While the number of patients who died from other causes increased 120 times in 2020, in particular from COVID-19 and pneumonia.
