Human capital has now been proven to be particularly important for socio-economic progress in China, but its level of development is not uniform across urban and rural areas. Therefore, studying the factors influencing the improvement of rural human capital in China is relevant. The novelty of the research boils down to the fact that the paper is the first in Chinese economic sociology to apply an approach to assessing the relationship between the level of education development and the development of human capital in rural areas of China, based on the use of correlation analysis. The paper assesses the level of human capital development and the state of the education system in rural areas of China. As a result of the study, it has been statistically proven that the state of the education system has an impact on the development of human capital in rural areas. It is concluded that when developing social measures for the development of rural human capital in China, it is important to take into account the need to improve the education infrastructure
