This article is an analytical study aimed at understanding the current state of scientific work in the field of cooperation between academia and industry as the most important tool for achieving sustainable technological development and increasing the competitiveness of regions. The article emphasizes that in the context of accelerating digitalization and transformation of economic models, cooperation between science and industry is becoming necessary for the effective functioning of innovation systems at both the regional and national levels. The purpose of the study is to identify effective models of interaction between scientific organizations, universities, and manufacturing enterprises that can ensure technology transfer, commercialization of scientific developments, and sustainable growth of the regional economy. The work uses the methods of critical analysis, systematization of research, and comparative analysis of domestic and foreign experience. The study is based on scientific papers of recent years and analytical reports, as well as data reflecting the institutional and organizational features of innovative development. The analysis revealed the main barriers to the formation of effective cooperation: the lack of a systematic approach to managing innovation infrastructure, a weak institutional base, insufficient support from the state, and a low level of synchronization of interests among all participants in innovation. Particular attention is paid to the need to form flexible financial mechanisms that encourage science and business to interact, as well as the creation of regional coordination centers. The authors conclude that the government needs to play an active role in coordinating and financing innovation processes, developing human capital, forming integration platforms, and supporting regional innovation clusters. The practical application of results is possible in designing strategies for socio-economic development, managing innovation infrastructure, and developing public-private partnership programs.
