The author analyzes the current (from the beginning of XX century) theory of social and economic justice, and practical experience of the functioning of fair social market economy. The article considers Equity as a category that characterizes the development of social and economic system as a way and criteria of equitable social and economic relations in society when harmonization of social and economic interests of all stakeholders can be achieved.
