Analysis of the ways of the derivation of the English terms in the sphere of the materials science (based on the English academic papers)

The article deals with the morphological and syntactic ways of the derivation of the terms of the sphere of the materials science. There were analyzed 569 terms from the English academic papers. The syntactic way and stem-composition are the most productive ways of the formation of terms. The analysis allowed to define that two-words and three-words terminological combinations present the representative type of the terms.
