Analysis of the impact of information technology on the development of e-commerce

Information technologies are intensively spreading across all spheres of our life. Development of the society is currently not possible without the use of these technologies. The usual business formats are being replaced by new, modern formats that are developing with consideration to the requirements of the digital economy. These processes have also affected the retail industry. Recently, the field of e-commerce has been developing rapidly, due to a number of objective factors. Among these the following factors can be mentioned: the degree of the society informatization and the prerequisites caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Certainly, in order to increase the competitiveness of this industry, it is necessary to have a clear understanding of the interrelationships of its pace of development and the factors that caused this development. To this end, the study analyzes the dynamics of e-commerce development in Russia, and also identifies the factors that have the maximum impact on the intensity of e-commerce development. Finding the solution to this problem involves the use of correlation and statistical analysis. The results obtained can be used to stimulate the further development of e-commerce in the Russian Federation, which is extremely important at the present stage of the digital economy formation.
