The presented materials consider the problem of "students' health", its relevance for the development of the individual and society as a whole. The paper presents the data of preventive medical examinations and the level of detected pathologies among students of the city of Ulyanovsk. The authors show the structure of revealed pathologies and deviations in the state of health of students. The paper also considers the scientific studies of the health status of students of various universities, which show that there is a significant difference in the dynamics of acute (with temporary disability) and chronic diseases. The authors discuss the issues of the influence of training in modern professional educational institutions. The impact of an intensive study load against the background of adverse environmental and social factors, a high level of psycho-emotional overload of modern life on the functional state and health of students is shown. The article presents the results of studying the prevalence of smoking among students of universities in the city of Ulyanovsk. Behavioral risk factors that affect the body, such as poor nutrition, low physical activity, consumption of alcoholic beverages, narcotic substances and psychotic substances without a doctor's prescription, have been identified. These factors increase the likelihood of developing diseases, their progression and poor outcome. The materials discuss the data of the study of the psycho-emotional state during the semester. The stages of functional stress and overstrain, the state of disruption of adaptive processes with some even nosological forms of diseases in students are determined. The paper presents a promising method for diagnosing and correcting professional health, which is a biofeedback method (BFB) that promotes the activation of the body's natural reserves.
