Legal English and terminological system: formation and development

The article considers the history of legal English formation and development as well as legal terminological system of the English language. The main stages of the process of legal English development are singled out, the examples of the terms appeared at each stage of the language development are given. The author makes a conclusion that legal English and its terminology are a natural result of different social, political, linguistic and cultural changes taken place at different stages of society development.
