Animation is approached as a tool to develop divergent thinking of primary school students. The concept of divergent thinking is characterized. Development problems, inadequate diagnostic means for divergent thinking and the problem classification of tasks by divergence criteria are discussed. creative phenomenon is studied in the context of psychological needs of personality. The problem of plot setting for animation classes is discussed in detail. The suggested hypothesis treats visual thinking as a substantial component of education technology
