(Anti-)utopian projects in contemporary Russian art

The article offers a brief overview of the most revealing utopian and antiutopian statements in the field of contemporary Russian art. It presents a number of projects authored by wellrecognized artists on the Russian art scene, representatives of completely different (often opposite) political and religious beliefs, working in different styles and techniques from painting and graphics to installation and computer games. The proposed text analyzed the thematic works of the authorship of the ZIP Group (Krasnodar), Arseniy Zhilyaev (Voronezh, Moscow), Pavel Pepperstein (Moscow, Prague), Alexei Belyaev Gintovt (Moscow), as well as the Moscow bands Ice Pick Lodge and AES+F. The projects of these artists also differ in their seriousness both ironic works and quite specific ideological manifestations are offered for consideration.
