The article examines the problem of defining the essential characteristics of the human image presented by modern humanistic theories, which deliberately depart from the classical model of humanism. Philosophers of humanistic theories: posthumanism, transhumanism, neo-humanism, as well as describing the image of the ideal human being, outline the most important problems of modern society, mechanisms and ways of solving them. Conclusions are drawn that humanistic theories are united by an interest in the designation of the concept of “humanism”, as well as the spheres and areas of its implementation in the socio-cultural space. Postclassical humanistic theories of modernity are distinguished by special characteristics of humanism, images of an ideal person and society, which must be pursued. Humanistic teachings may be of interest as another stage in the development of humanistic theory, which reflects the global problems of modern society and the development of civilization.
