The paper is devoted to the examination of the anthropomorphous model of the Universe in Karelian epic rune songs portraying the world creation. Two intertwined visualizations of the origin of the world can be traced back with the help of these sources: zoomorphous one, according to which the world was created from the parts of an egg and anthropomorphous one, which brings out a concept of the world creation from the parts of the first human being - Väinämöinen).
