The article aims to consider the argument from analogy by St. Theophilus of Antioch in the context of the tasks that Christian apologetics of the 2nd century had to solve. In the polemical game that St. Theophilus of Antioch is playing with his opponent, the argument from analogy allows him to speak about God in the Christian sense of the word. The subsequent history of the “argumentation link” (the teleological and analogical arguments) tells us that its importance for the discourses of evidence for the existence of God is precisely in the aspect of establishing coordination between the rational structure of the universe and the rational human being, which are the two most important aspects of the biblical concept of creation.
