The archaeological context of portable art from the Khotylevo 2, station B Upper Paleolithic site

The paper offers comparative analysis of depositional contexts of portable art items found in the occupation layer during excavations of station V at Khotylevo 2. It provides description of assemblages of archaeological objects related to the position of works of art and compares their spatial distribution. The author comes to the conclusion that distinctive features of the archaeological context where prehistorical art items from station V at Khotylevo 2 have been found are consistent with cultural attributes of this site within the Eastern European Gravettian.
