Archive M. A. Genendlis - unknown Far Eastern fine arts page

The article devoted to an envestigation of a previously unknown archive of the artist-decorator M. A. Genendlis. He worked in Khabarovsk from 1936 to the early 1980s. The artist’s name and his works were in oblivion for several decades. For the first time, the various pictorial activities of M. A. Genendlis are revealed. Information about the artist’s biography is published. The study led to the conclusion that the found works of M. A. Genendlis are documents that open unknown pages in the development of the Far Eastern fine arts. His works of scenography and architectural and decorative design of public buildings in the Khabarovsk Territory is especially significant. The published information is important both for studying the history of the region and for art history.
