Artem Vesyoly. The start of creative work

‘To Maxim Gorky, the native of Volga region from Artem Vesely, the native of Volga region’ was written by the author on the frontispiece of Feasting Spring (Kharkov, 1929). Almost the whole life of the writer which took only two decades (1917 - 1937) belonged to the Volga river. The Volga was his main life road. All the main events of his life and creative work relate to it. In our opinion, the most important events were in 1917 - 1918 and in 1927 - 1937. The first period was the start of great life, while the second one was full of journeys (which were nearly every year) through the great river and other ones. While travelling, he was writing his books, and the last journey was in expectation of being arrested. Conclusion: earlier works of Artem Vesely where the main theme of his creative work was defined - Russia wept with blood, was forming the cycle which can be figuratively called Samara (these works were created in 1918 in Samara and imbibed N. Kochkurov’s life experience and attitudes - whose pen name is A.Vesely).
