Тематические группы лексики, называющей профессии, в Викторианский период

В данной статье рассматриваются семантические особенности тематических групп, входящих в состав лексико-семантического поля «наименование видов деятельности» в период правления королевы Виктории. Автором проведены выборка лексических единиц и анализ значений слов, имеющих отношение ко всем видам трудовой деятельности. В работе представлено разделение всех профессий исследуемого периода на 8 тематических групп. Исследование позволяет получить системное представление о всех трудовых сферах XIX века. Полученные данные могут служить дополнительным источником сведений о периоде Британии новоанглийской эпохи.

Thematic groups of Victorian era professions
In the original article semantic peculiarities of lexis dealing with professions in Victorian English were investigated. The author made an attempt to choose and analyze the words related to work, job and occupation. The results of the research show dividing of lexis to 8 thematic groups. The paper allows getting additional information about intellectual workers and history in Victorian Britain.
