Asceticism as a roadmap of a life course
Бесплатный доступ
Philosophers, culture experts and anthropologists of different periods explored culture as a form of the subject’s work with space and time. This important anthropological component of all world-viewing conceptions is denominated by A.A. Ukhtomsky as a “chronotope”. One of the essential characteristics of the subject’s orientation in space and time is its mobility. The way as a mythologem of movement is considered in this article. It is justified that asceticism performs the function of a kind of a roadmap, a navigator and a compass by the determination of life as a space-time way, helping to determine its destination and to set a unique vector. Like the thread of Ariadne, asceticism makes it possible to avoid wandering through the labyrinths of being and walking in a vicious circle and, as a result, allows a person to become their true self and to not get lost, bringing his existence to a qualitatively different ontological level.
