The aspects of oncological safety in apparatus-based reinfusion of washed erythrocytes in oncourological operations

Place of device-based retransfusion of washed RBC in surgical oncology is not clarified yet. Aim: to estimate value of device-based retransfusion of RBC in oncourology. Materials and methods: 26 patients operated in FSE Russian national centre of rentgen and radiology Rosmedtechnologies, m - 18 (69.2 %), f - 8 (30.8 %), mean age 59,8 ± 5.7 years old; 12 (46.1 %) cases of radical prostatectomy, 14 (53.9 %) - cystectomy with formation of ileoconduit. In all cases cytology was carried out of three samples: blood collected from an operational wound without processing; washed RBC after processing by the Cell Saver device; washed RBC after processing by the Cell Saver device, with the subsequent application of WBC filter. Cytologic study of deposit material in the third case, unlike first two, has revealed only RBC, and extraneous cellular elements were absent. Conclusion: technique of retransfusion of washed RBC through leukocyte filters provides necessary ablastics.
