The article deals with the description of the distinctive peculiarities of the processes of adaptation of the European in the Indo-Buddhistic world in the period of the colonial expansion. There are demonstrated the basic stages and the strategies of the adaptation of the European based on the work “Shadow of the Moon” by M.M. Kaye, there are revealed the indicators of high and low adaptiveness, there are defined the basic adaptative strategies of the interethnic interaction.
