Authentic written materials in teaching a second language

The importance of the research is provided by the need to choose effective methods of communicative competence forming in the process of teaching a second language. Therefore this article is devoted to the examination of using authenticity as a feature of effective studying process organization and authentic material as the way of authentic situation forming. The principles of communicative competence forming are observed, authenticity and authentic material are defined asnotions of methodology, authenticity classification is presented as well as classification of authentic texts. The aspects of using authentic textsare examined. The steps of reading activity with the use of authentic materials for each type of texts are envisioned. The content of the article can be used practically in organization of the studying activity with the use of authentic material at the lesson of foreign language.
