Authentic flamenco: special aspects of cross-cultural interactions of Sufism and gypsy culture

Бесплатный доступ

This research made the record that flamenco arose as figurative plastic form reflecting the specific attitude of the national Spanish mentality, the unique features of which were deeply influenced by Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious cultures. Referring to the texts of some historical, ethnographic, culturological sources, the author turned the spotlight on the role of Sufism and its impact on the process of evolution and the formation of the ideological content of the flamenco music and dance culture. The finding out of the spiritual significance of this type of creative activity makes it possible to overcome the stereotypes of its perception, which is very relevant for the flamenco music and dance practice. By bringing the dispute of this topic to the discussion plane, the author focused on the question of the degree of impact of the Arab culture and the culture of the Gypsy ethnos on the metaphysical foundations of flamenco, intentionally leaving outside of the research the problems of the dialogical interaction of the Jewish and Christian religions and their role in the development of flamenco.
