Austrian words in different genres of contemporary Austrian printed mass media

The given article is devoted to the analysis of using Austrian words in modern newspaper Austrian texts in their genre varieties. These are such popular sources as Kronenzeitung, Kurier, Österreich and others. The degree of using Austrian words is broadly connected with genre peculiarities of printed mass media: interview, commentary, news genres and so on. The top-priority genre is interview where they are mostly concentrated. Next, we should mention genres of commentary and news. The usage of Austrian words in printed media along with purely German words draws attention of Austrian readers, prompts them to continue reading the article, as these are words that are clear to the majority of the country's residents.
