Field emission properties of polyacrylonitrile carbon fibers at different processing temperatures

Free access

Currently, the field emission properties of polyacrylonitrile carbon fibers are actively studied. Field emission properties of polyacrylonitrile carbon fibers with a febrile structure, a diameter of 7 microns and a heat treatment temperature of 1500-2600 oC are considered. The value of the maximum emission current removed from a single carbon fiber increases with increasing heat treatment temperature. Changes in the current-voltage characteristics during the operation of the field emission cathode and under the influence of adsorption of residual gas molecules are analyzed. A way to reduce the emission current fluctuations is shown.
