The authority of parents as a determinant of a teenager's self-esteem

For socialization in modern society, a child needs to find support in the person of an adult. This gives the child a sense of self-worth and life confidence, which is an important need of the child’s psyche. With the help of the author’s methods “Board of Honor” and “Board of Shame”, the test “Study of general self-esteem” (G.N. Kazantseva) and the test “Determination of self-esteem” (R.V. Ovcharova), the peculiarities of the influence of parental authority on the self-esteem of 14-year-olds were revealed in our study.
