The article deals with author's view of the world in the novel of U. Eco "The name of the rose". The concept "View of the world" is formed by next elements: the title, the key words, the names of the characters, intertextual insertions, literary and biblical allusions. The title - symbol "The name of the rose" has so many meanings, that it lost any meaning at last. It was the part of author's view of the world. Polysemies of flower symbol accompany the reader along the labyrinth of subject and ideas. Among them there is mystification. Delicate description of finding of manuscript, different clearing details, dates; geographical realties complicate the position of the reader and together create the effect of real existence of the Book. Two key concepts - book and labyrinth - are associated, that permit to author to discuss about overextension. The third key concept of the novel is mirror and reflection. The Abbey here presents the mini-model of the world contemporary. This world is infected by sin and interprets wrong the Divine Word. Biblical allusions are reflected in the contexture of the novel. The enormous narration goes into 6 days and co-called "last sheet". As the Lord, the author of the novel creates his world for 6 days and then (as distinct from God) he is not take rest, but annihilates his creation. The mind game in the novel is the reflection of the author view of the world; it permits to the reader to open new texts and new senses in the text quoted.
