Belarusian Refugees in the Samara Province during the World War I (on the 110th Anniversary of the Belarusian Tragedy)

Бесплатный доступ

The author analyzes the processes of the refugee movement of Belarusians from the western provinces of Russia during the First World War, their resettlement in a number of villages in the Buzuluk and Buguruslan districts of the Samara province, their adaptation to the Russian hinterland, and their relationships with local residents. The micro-history of one Belarusian family is based on the personal documents of M.P. Klimovich. The main sources for the study of the mass exodus of Belarusians to the Samara region were the metric records of a number of parish churches stored in the Central State Archives of the Samara Region.
