Non-equivalent vocabulary in English proverbs and sayings: translation aspect

The article presents the translation of non-equivalent vocabulary in English proverbs and sayings containing lexical-semantic fields “Time”, “Man” and “Nature”, which help to identify various techniques for conveying the meaning of English proverbs and sayings into Russian. This study has showed that among the methods of transmitting English proverbs and sayings into Russian, stylistic substitution predominates.
