Safety of children and youth in multicultural educational space of Russia: problems and prospects

The article substantiates the essence and reveals the functional purpose of the multicultural educational space of Russia in the context of ensuring the safety of children and youth. The concept "social safety" is considered as a system, process and result, based on the aggregate of the principles of multicultural, social determination, dialogue of cultures, on the ideas of citizenship, internationalism and patriotism, integration, as well as on the Russian commonality. The content components of space, the conditions and mechanisms are considered to carry out its protective functions. The kinds of social and pedagogical safety and the possibilities of the educational space are specified that direct support and safety of children based on the principle of multiculturalism. The directions for social safety of children and youth are allocated: safety in the extreme situations, spiritual and moral safety, civil and patriotic safety, law safety, physical safety, information safety. The article proposes a model of provision the social safety which includes the principles of systematism, integrity and unity, continuity, cyclic recurrence and dynamism, optimality and interdisciplinary approach.
