Unemployment in rural areas: trends and prospects

The article examines indicators characterizing unemployment in rural areas during the period of various socio-economic transformations in the Russian Federation. Using traditional statistical tools, indicators of structure and dynamics are analyzed that characterize the composition, level and changes in rural unemployment and give an idea of trends in the labor market in rural areas emerging in the era of modern challenges. The results of the study made it possible to determine the socio-demographic portrait of an unemployed rural resident. When analyzing the dynamics of indicators characterizing unemployment in rural areas, on average over the period, a downward trend in its level with an absolute slowdown was identified.
