Biblical forests and feng shui forests: towards the problem of understanding the religious concept of “spiritual ecology”

The article discusses the ecological ideas of biblical traditions that are associated with spiritual practices and the ecology of the Feng Shui spirit. The allegorical and metaphorical nature of the images used is noted. Biblical forests and Feng Shui forests are analyzed from the point of view of symbolic and religious understanding in the aspect of spiritual ecology - a scientific direction formed at the junction of religion, science and ecology. It is demonstrated that each person is spiritual in connection with Nature and the Spirit of God, responsible for his behavior towards both, for the state of the Earth in general. A problematic comparison of the Christian tradition of understanding man as the center of the universe, responsible for Nature, and the Chinese metaphysics of Feng Shui forests has been carried out, which allowed to create a basis for theorizing the religious concept of “spiritual ecology”. The prospects of this research direction in terms of correlation with «deep ecology» are noted.
