This paper is a branch of the project on the development of the system of support for modeling of complex economic systems ECOMOD based on an open source platform. This paper deals with the problems of automated transition from the symbolic representation of the variational problem to a form that can be calculated numerically. A new system for converting symbolic expressions into a computable system using the procedure of automatic discretization of differential and algebraic equations is proposed, and algorithms for solving such computable systems as systems of ordinary algebraic equations are proposed. This functionality has not been implemented in the main ECOMOD project and in the future will be built into ECOMOD as a prototype module for numerical solution and analysis of complex economic models. The application of the proposed approach is demonstrated on several physical models. The paper also discusses the results of the work and important further steps of its development.
