A new type of library as a regional center for new knowledge and digital culture

This article reveals the role of the library in the system modern education and digitalization of culture. The author formulated a scientific definition of a new type of library as a modern cultural and educational institution that performs the functions of national libraries in the regional cultural space through the introduction of advanced information and digital technologies, capable of providing new social opportunities, forming cultural meanings and meeting human needs in various spheres of society ... Particular attention was paid to the fact that the result of the activity on combining the latest technologies with traditional monuments is the creation of a national digital resource that allows saturating the network multimedia spaces with meanings and values that have a significant impact on human life and activities. It is noted that the use of digital technologies is an integral element of the development of library activities at the present stage. The idea is substantiated that the modern library is becoming an essential component of the preservation and development of the regional cultural environment, playing a significant role in the development of knowledge and culture. The experience of functioning of the Presidential Library named after the first President of Russia is considered as a reference model for the development of library networks. As a result of the study, the author comes to the conclusion that the use of digital technologies is an integral element of the development of library activities at the present stage. In the context of informatization and digitalization of society, a library of a new type is becoming an essential component of the preservation and development of the regional cultural environment, playing a significant role in the development of knowledge and culture.
