This article presents the results of a biomechanical analysis of lower limb muscle strength charac-teristics in young speed skaters. The study focuses on the problem of lower limb load asymmetry caused by the specifics of speed skating technique. Based on modern muscle strength assessment methods, including isokinetic dynamometry and testing on force platforms, a comprehensive analysis of lateral asymmetry in athletes of different age groups was conducted. The features of muscle imbalance in young skaters that differ from the characteristics of adult athletes were revealed. The factors influencing bilateral deficit and interlimb asymmetry of maximum and explosive strength were systematized. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the development of a differentiated approach to the use of plyometric and strength training, taking into account the degree of identified asymmetry and age characteristics of athletes. The proposed methodological recommendations are aimed at harmonizing the strength indicators of the lower extremities, reducing the risk of injury and increasing the effectiveness of competitive activities. The need for longitudinal studies to monitor the dynamics of strength indicators at various stages of train-ing is substantiated. The results of the study can be used in planning the training process of young skaters and creating individual programs for correcting muscle imbalance.
