It is well known that improving the comfort of the chair is necessary as a medical solution to prevent pressure ulcers. In recent years, pressure ulcers have become increasingly significant social and medical, so manufacturers are trying to respond adequately in favor of better solutions. This article presents a three-dimensional model of the finite element model of the interaction of buttock-thigh tissue with a medical cushion made of thermoplastic polyurethane for wheelchairs. The purpose of this article is to investigate stresses in the buttocks to prevent ulcers and improve the comfort of patients using wheelchairs. The results of this study demonstrated that the cushion (thermoplastic polyurethane-based) used is better suited and designed to reduce stress on the buttock-thigh tissue and thus prevent the formation of pressure ulcers.
