Boris Sergeyevich Razumikhin (on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth)

The year 2018 marks 100 years since the birth of the scientist and war veteran Boris Sergeyevich Razumikhin (1918-1988) - a prominent representative of the Russian school of the theory of stability, which traces its origins to its founder A.M. Lyapunov. Unfortunately, the name of the talented mechanics and mathematics is very rarely mentioned in historical-mathematical studies. Razumikhin's life and contribution to mathematics and physics is a closed book for a wide audience. Boris Ser-geyevich was the first to point to the deep roots connecting analytical mechanics and the theory of optimal control, and developed the mathematical foundations for the theory of optimal control problems with retarded argument. The article provides biographical information, restoring little-known facts of the scientist's professional biography and mathematical creativity.
