The article deals with the present state of the conjugal and family relations and fertility in Russia. A special consideration is given to the causes of serious problems in this sphere. On the basis of official statistics the author analyses the data on the history and the present state of marriage and family, the dynamics of the conjugal and family relations, reproductive intentions of people, fertility.
