Buryat language and mass media

The article reviews social-linguistic problems of functioning of the Buryat language in mass media: television, radio, periodicals. Specifics of functioning of national language in mass media, their importance for its development are shown. Despite the fact that this area of language use is insignificant, it is supported by the state in the form of a government program. It is noted that there is an essential reduction of information service in the Buryat language is observed. The author proposes to expand measures for national language support in mass media.
