Depiction by Goncharov as a stable artistic and aesthetic system is fundamentally connected with “high” (Italian) and “everyday” (Flemish) painting. In the writer’s main novel it manifests itself in the form of everyday scenes (genres). Against the background of the development of critical realism in the historical and literary process of Russia, Goncharov’s appeal to this genre was key on the path to the formation of the category of “ordinary”, elevated to an aesthetic absolute in the writer’s work. The part called Oblomov’s Dream, woven from allusions to Flemish paintings, demonstrates the writer’s attention to everyday scenes, with the help of which the patriarchal life is recreated, which influenced the formation of the Russian national image - Ilya Ilyich Oblomov. The depiction of everyday scenes in the novel is associated with a number of central aesthetic problems, such as poeticization of reality and characterology. For the first time in this article, Oblomov’s everyday scenes were correlated with genre painting and canvases by Dutch and Flemish masters. In addition to recreating the idyll, everyday scenes enlarge the role of chapters (1 and 4) that are important from the point of view of composition on the path of the spiritual evolution of the protagonist, whose portrait is given in Flemish coloring. It was revealed that everyday scenes as an interdisciplinary genre in the novel “Oblomov” by Goncharov are associated with the theory of epicization, since they are an element of one of the two aesthetic foundations of painting as a means of recreating reality. Appealing to “Flemishness” through everyday scenes gave Goncharov the opportunity to poetize certain aspects of Russian life, emphasizing the triumph of everyday beauty. The everyday scenes of the novel constitute a kind of thematic “ring” designed to emphasize the importance of the Flemish visual genre for the main artistic idea of the novel “Oblomov”.
